Life on the Hill
Under Orion Farm collects people and their personalities like a stream collects stones. Some are bright and shiny, some are dark and worn, and all just happen by, passing through the pool with their one-of-a-kind luster.
I recently created a new Twitter hashtag, #lifeonthehill, because our time on the hill in Cabot really does have its own identity. I don’t know if anyone will use it, but I’m having fun with it. Under Orion Farm is the nerve center of a lifestyle that indeed, takes on a life of its own.
From the farmstand to syrup, hay, beef, the airstrip, hangar, and lumber, Under Orion Farm buzzes with activity. But beyond the business lies adventures… we fly on the hay barn trampoline, feed pigs and chicks, meander through the Dancin’ Carrot greenhouses, and discover what sold at the farmstand today. It’s not unusual to wander into gatherings featuring lovingly prepared food, drink, and pop-up community dinners; we cap off the night with an orange moonrise, stunning and beautiful from the back porch. Love, laughter, and abundance: Under Orion Farm weaves the fabric of wishes and a life well lived.
One afternoon when my son Alden was two, he stomped to the door in a rage. When I asked him where he was going, he sputtered, “see sheep.” In toddler-speak, that means he was going to Will’s. Eight years after, we’re still going to Will’s.
We’ll see you later. Here’s to #lifeonthehill.
